About Ralynn's Medical Career- Ralynn was 3 years old when she made the decision that remained with her through her short life. She was going to be a "physician"! Ralynn had already had her share of emergency room visits by that age, and loved the excitement of the hustle and bustle of the doctors and nurses. Her curiosity concerning her lacerations and broken bones over the years amazed the doctors and they encouraged her excitement to some day attend medical school and follow her dream of helping others.
Four years after the first Candy Stripper uniform was handed out to her at 13 by the staff at the small hospital just a mile from where she lived, Ralynn had put in 5,000 volunteer hours and garnered an award for the most hours ever for a Candy Stripper.
Ralynn then headed to Houston, her place of birth, where she graduated from The University of Houston and was awarded a scholarship from The University of Texas Medical School. She was continuing her studies at the American Medical School of the Caribbean when her father became ill with cancer and she dropped out to take care of him. Ralynn went on after her father's death to become truly "the physician who healed with love."
When God took her home she was engaged to marry Albert Lee a neurosurgeon in Dallas and they both had plans of going into the mission field with their skills after Dr. Lee finished his residency. Albert will finish her dream of helping others as God leads him through a very difficult residency without his partner. | | This page was last modified on January 29, 2008 10:53 AM |
